THE CLOSER Celebrates a Milestone: Filming Begins on Season 10

Filming of the tenth season of the popular Channel One detective series, produced by STAR MEDIA, will once again take place in its traditional setting — sunny Gelendzhik. Anna Banshchikova, Denis Burgazliev, Eduard Chekmazov, Vladimir Nikolenko, Anatoly Gushchin, Mikhail Gavrilov-Tretyakov, Irina Pulina, Polina Kutepova, Ivan Kolesnikov, Igor Petrenko, German Shveykin, Alexander Makogon, Dmitry Miller, and other cast members will reprise their roles. Andrey Golovkov returns as director. The new season of the detective series is scheduled to premiere on Channel One in 2027.

Kushnir is in a relationship with Vasnetsov. The couple are planning to introduce their families to each other, but work once again gets in the way when Kushnir is kidnapped right before her fiancé’s eyes. After the situation is successfully resolved, a mysterious figure known as the Bookman appears, determined to write and bring to life his own version of the future for Kushnir, her team, and her loved ones.

Meanwhile, Alexandra continues with her everyday life, trying to balance her demanding career with family responsibilities. Everything becomes increasingly intertwined: the mysterious death of Udaltsova’s new assistant, the search for Zhirkov’s newborn baby who has gone missing, Abashev’s murder, and numerous other complicated cases unfold alongside Lapin’s attempts to woo Misha’s teacher, Biryukov’s comical adventures in private investigations, and the undeniable attraction developing between Khaydarov and Vasnetsov’s sister. Only Kushnir can handle it all!

Director Andrey Golovkov:

“In the new season, we can expect complex detective cases and new villains who make our protagonist, played by Anna Banshchikova, feel constantly watched, threatened by an invisible danger, and afraid. Of course, Alexandra Ivanovna will confront every challenge while trying to balance her professional and personal lives.

As a reminder, she received a marriage proposal last season, which means that this season she will be preparing for her wedding! This naturally brings all the usual domestic concerns: organizing the celebration and meeting her fiancé’s relatives.

It won’t be easy for our heroine to welcome new people into her life, especially the eccentric sister of her beloved Konstantin Vasnetsov, played by Igor Petrenko. However, the storyline hints at a possible romantic interest involving one of Kushnir’s colleagues, which could help ease the tension.”

Creative Producer and Lead Actress Anna Banshchikova:

“The tenth season of THE CLOSER is a real milestone, and it is particularly special to me. Kushnir and I have been together for so many years, yet she still manages to surprise me.

In the new season, she will face changes both at work and in her personal life. She certainly won’t be lacking male attention, but we’re not going to reveal just yet who will be competing for her heart — or how.

Our beloved team will also continue to evolve and face new challenges. At the same time, we will do our best to preserve everything that audiences have loved about THE CLOSER over the years: detective mysteries, humor, the relationships between the characters, and, of course, the unpredictable Alexandra Kushnir.

I truly hope that the tenth season will be a wonderful gift to our viewers.”

In addition to various locations around the city, filming will take place in the village of Kabardinka near Gelendzhik, at the House of Arts, part of the Old Park Cultural Center, which houses one of the largest contemporary art galleries on the Black Sea coast.

Another filming location will be the picturesque area surrounding the dolmens along the Pshada River, approximately 30 kilometers from the city. The area is home to more than 90 ancient megalithic structures, including some of the largest dolmens in Krasnodar Krai, measuring up to four meters in length. Researchers date these structures to the 4th–3rd millennium BC.

Spectacular scenes will also be filmed in the mountains, featuring paragliders soaring on air currents.
